Whomp! it’s fantastic! Just try it.

Today is topic day and we have been learning about the continents and especially Africa.

We looked at Oxfam’s Cool Planet website to help us understand how a globe can become a flat map.

 We played some geography games to help us learn the names of African countries.

Today everybody in year 3/4 was having fun and trying out something new. The boys did an awesome K’NEX challenge while the girls enjoyed fabulous football with Lincoln City.

In the K’NEX challenge the boys built equipment for a playground. Charlie said, “my group built a slide, a car and a grown-up slide. Oliver worked with a partner to build a swing. Callum’s group built a climbing frame and a car to transport people around the playground. Thomas’s group built a roller coaster, an electric swing and a normal swing. “It was super,” he said.

The girls learned lots of games to practise football skills. ‘Crab and Shrimp’ had a song to go with it:

I am a shrimp wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle and I don’t like crabs wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle

Charlotte thought it was amazing playing with the Lincoln City players. Reece was in charge of photographing the girls. “I enjoyed it,” she said.

On Friday 7th july, we had a D.T. day where we made boxes, first of all we brought treasure to school to put in our box we already tried to make a box on 6th july but that was hard.

We made a box out of paper but that didn’t go well because it was floppy.

We started make a box out of practice card but that didn’t go very well because we couldn’t cut.

We started with cardboard but that was quitehard because it was stiff and hard to cut.

It’s nearly then end of my first year at Fosseway. It’s been brilliant to get to know all the children and we have had lots of fun doing some really exciting things. Thanks everyone!!
